UNPAID STUDENT PLACEMENT / INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Little Big Woman Productions is seeking two Bus Stop Films’ students to apply to work with us on Shattered, an audio-visual work in 5 acts.

Shattered challenges long held stereotypes about a group of people with a physical disability. These people have traditionally been the brunt of jokes and ridicule and their physical condition remains socially acceptable to deride – that group is people with dwarfism. Shattered will be presented as a 5 screen installation at the Museum of Contemporary Art and in regional galleries across NSW, in 2021.

Shattered is creatively led by Debra Keenahan and the film is based on her lived experiences.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Shattered will be filmed at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul (South of Sydney near Wollongong) and we are looking for two students to take on the following placements:
Production Assistant
Art Direction Assistant

As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to experience a professional film set and work with leading artists such as Evan Papageorgiou, who was the DOP on Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN YOUR INTERNSHIP

We will require you to make your way to the set each day, however we will provide meals and refreshments while on set and can arrange lifts home at the end of the day if required.

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
As the Production Assistant you will be a vital part of the crew. You will work across, and gain experience in a variety of key roles including 4th Assistant Director and Sound Assistant.

ASSISTANT ART DIRECTOR
As the Assistant Art Director you will work with our Art Director Louis Pratt to dress the set, arrange props and help create the visual look of each location.

Both of these roles are un-paid.

Extras Needed

Our friends at Taste Creative are shooting the second season of Perspective Shift. An inclusively made TV documentary series that will screen on SBS.

They need some background extras for a re-enactment scene of a research group with Dr Jackie Leach Scully at UNSW’s Disability Innovation Institute.

A background extra is an acting role that means you will be in the shoot but do not speak.
